Welcome to 5/6M with Miss Lloyd

In 5/6M we have developed a positive culture for learning, focused on using a growth mindset and the acceptance that it’s ok to make mistakes. We work collaboratively together and have been achieving our learning goals and tackling all our social and educational challenges together. Our aim is to become self-regulated learners who will be positive citizens in our future society. 5/6M are a wonderful group of motivated students and we are going to have a great learning journey throughout 2020.
Sports Day – Sports day is on a Friday. Students are required to wear their sports uniform, have their school hat and a drink bottle.
Library Day – Every Monday 5/6M have Library at 11:45am with Mr Griffin. They are encouraged to borrow books of interest each week as they are read in class independently to form a deeper love for reading.
MADD Hour– Every Tuesday 5/6M will have MADD Hour at 10:20am with Mrs Lukic. Semester 1 will focus on drama and dance with Mrs Kellu Lukic and semester 2 will focus on art appreciation and music with Miss Brooke Westwood.
Homework – Students are encouraged to borrow library books. Students also have access to Reading Eggs and Mathletics and are encouraged to complete activities set by all the stage 3 teachers.
Crunch and Sip - Each morning we have a fruit break at around 10am. Please include a piece of fruit that is easy to eat in your child’s lunch box each day. Fruit break should only take 5-10 minutes.
Assembly – The Assembly time for 3- 6 is Wednesday afternoons at 2:20 in weeks 3, 5, 8 and 10.
Parent Communication - Open communication between us is very important. Should you have any queries regarding your child, please send me an email through the school email address Berowra-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au . As I am teaching, attending meetings and have other duties throughout the school day, I may take 24 - 48 hours to respond.
5/6M endeavour to have a MAGICAL year of learning this year. I look forward to making that happen.
