Our extra-curricular highlights
Creative and performing arts
We believe the arts are a powerful way for students to express themselves and shine. Through drama, music and visual arts programs including dance, choir, band, recorder, strings and HPGE art enrichment days, students are encouraged to create and perform with confidence. Our performing arts groups also share their talents at major events such as the Sydney North Dance Festival, Sydney North West Music Festival, the Festival of Instrumental Music and local community celebrations.
Debating and public speaking
At Berowra Public School, we are committed to enriching the curriculum through our High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) opportunities, and our student Debating Team is a shining example. Designed specifically for Stage 3 students, participation in the Debating Team offers a unique platform to challenge themselves intellectually, engage with diverse perspectives and develop critical skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
Excursions and Camps
Our students love stepping outside the classroom to explore, learn, and experience new adventures. Students in Stage 2 and Stage 3 especially enjoy camps, which offer exciting opportunities to build confidence, strengthen friendships and discover how their learning connects to the world around them. Through excursions and camps, all our students engage with hands-on experiences that bring their education to life.
Hornsby Zone School Sport (HZSS) gives students exciting opportunities to develop their skills, teamwork and sportsmanship while competing in a range of popular sports, including league tag, cricket, netball, AFL and soccer. Through regular Friday sessions and inter-school competitions, students build confidence, stay active and embrace the spirit of friendly competition. In addition, inter-school gala days provide even more opportunities for students to participate, shine and showcase their sporting talents.
