P&C

Berowra Public School Parents & Citizens Association

Berowra Public School P&C is an incorporated association made up of parent and citizen volunteers who are in some way associated with the school.

During school terms, the P&C meets in the staff room at 7pm on the third Wednesday evening each month.  All BPS parents and carers are very welcome to attend and contribute. It's a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and if you're keen to learn more about what we do and become involved please come along or get in contact with us.

The P&C is a great way to get involved with the school and our community, and to help with the development of our school. We co-ordinate social and fundraising events throughout the year, organise working bees to maintain and landscape the school gardens and oversee the running of the canteen, uniform shop and band.

Our Mission

The P&C exists and operates to support the welfare of our Berowra Public School community. Our goals include:

  •  to promote the interests of the school by bringing parents, citizens, students and teaching staff into close co-operation;
  • to assist in providing facilities and equipment for the school and in promoting the recreation and welfare of the students at the school; and
  • bringing our school community together in close co-operation.

Membership

Membership of the P&C is a great way to help support our school. By being a member of the P&C, you are entitled to receive meeting minutes. You are also kept updated regularly on activities and events happening around the school as well as new school policies and procedures. It also means you can have active input.

Being a member of the P&C also gives you voting rights at meetings, and you can participate in the decision-making process.  Being a member of the P&C doesn’t mean you need to come along to every meeting or volunteer for anything that you don’t want to do.  To become a member, it will cost you just 50c which can be paid at the meeting or via Flexischools. A membership form will also need to be completed and given to our Secretary in person or emailed to secretary@bps.org.au

P&C membership must be renewed each year.

Return and Earn

BPS has been successful in becoming a donation partner on our local return and earn machine. BPS will feature from the 24th August 2020 on the machine located in Berowra Heights.

We encourage anyone from our local community to begin collecting eligible containers and donating their returns directly into our fundraising account by selecting ‘BPS’. All funds raised will go directly towards the upkeep of the school vegetable garden.
