5/6A has had a great start to the year and have worked hard to follow the school expectations of respect. It is pleasing to see the positive attitude that they have towards their work and to each other. I am sure this year will be a fun and rewarding year for all of us.

Sports Day – Sports day is on Fridays each week. Some students will go to HZSS Interschool sport and other students will participate in sport at school. Students are required to wear their sports uniform, have their school hat and a drink bottle.

Library Day – Every Wednesday, 5/6A will have Library from 10:20 -11:20. They are encouraged to borrow books of interest each week as they are read in class independently to form a deeper love for reading. Library times may change during the year and parents and children will be notified of this if it happens.

CAPA– Every Thursday 5/6A will have CAPA with Mrs Lukic or Miss Humphreys. Semester 1 will focus on dance and drama and Semester 2 will focus on art appreciation and music.

Homework – Students are encouraged to complete Mathletics each week as well as the Google Classroom Homework tasks. Reading each night for at least 20 minutes is also highly beneficial.

Crunch and Sip - Each morning we have crunch and sip at around 10:20 am. Please include a piece of fresh fruit or vegetables in your child’s lunch box each day.

Parent Communication - Open communication between us is very important. Should you have any queries regarding your child, please send me an email through the school email address Berowra-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au. For anything urgent please telephone the school.

I am really looking forward to an exciting year of learning with 5/6A.
